COMELEC Tested Machines & Canvassing System in Cebu

COMELEC (Commision on Election) machines and canvassing system was successfully tested in Cebu yesterday, January 27, 2010.This automated polls will be utilized as polling precincts this coming May 2010 election according to Election Commisioner Gregorio Larrazabal.
COMELEC also tested its Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines in 10 polling precincts in different five areas. Alfaco Elementary School and Bairan Elementary School in Naga, Cebu were among the 10 precincts. COMELEC spokesman James Jimenez said this test was for transmission system only.Cebu was the first to feed its test results to the national office and is now ready for the COMELEC automation.
Another field test will be conducted tomorrow in Pateros and Taguig. The mock elections are scheduled on February 6, 2010 in two areas in Cebu City.
